The AI Act Check
Ten questions, three minutes. You get an instant indicative picture: which risk categories your AI use likely falls into and your three most important actions.
How it works
- Ten short questions about your sector, role (provider/deployer) and AI use.
- An instant indicative risk profile: high, limited or minimal risk.
- Your three most important actions — and, if you wish, the full report by email.
The AI Act Check gives an indicative picture and is not legal advice. For a full picture, the AI Risk & Impact Scan was developed.
Frequently asked questions
When does the AI Act apply to my organisation?
The EU AI Act applies in phases. Since 2 February 2025 the prohibited AI practices and the AI literacy obligation (Article 4) apply. From 2 August 2025 the obligations for general-purpose AI models apply, and from 2 August 2026 the bulk of the obligations for high-risk AI. Whether you fall under them depends on your role (provider or deployer) and the risk category of your use.
What is a high-risk AI system?
Under the AI Act, high risk means an AI system is used in a domain where it directly affects people — for example recruitment and selection, education and examination, credit, public services, or law enforcement and justice. Those uses carry the heaviest obligations: risk management, data quality, technical documentation, human oversight and logging.
We only use AI through our suppliers. Does it still apply?
Yes. Even if you do not build AI yourself but procure it, under the AI Act you are a deployer and obligations apply — including AI literacy, human oversight and, for high risk, a fundamental rights impact assessment (FRIA). AI also often enters unnoticed via existing software, so an inventory is always step zero.
Is the AI Act Check legal advice?
No. The AI Act Check gives an indicative picture based on ten questions and is explicitly not legal advice. Your answers are processed only in your own browser. For a full and testable picture, the AI Risk & Impact Scan was developed.
What does an AI Risk & Impact Scan cost?
The AI Risk & Impact Scan works with a fixed price agreed up front after a short intake, so you know exactly where you stand. The lead time is about three weeks. See ways of working & rates for how we invoice.
